Born July 14, 1990, to Jackson and Amanda Briggs. Tobias Josiah Briggs was raised in a family of Law Enforcement Officials and Military Service Members. His father Jackson, was the Assistant Sheriff in the San Andreas Sheriff's Department, Chief of Staff in the San Andreas State Troopers, and later became the Interim Commissioner of the San Andreas State Troopers.

Before being elected Sheriff, a graduate of Harvard Law [Magna Cum Laude]. Sheriff Briggs served in the United States Marine Corps after receiving a Honorable Discharge at the rank of Colonel  overseeing the operations at the Joint Military Base [Fort Zancudo]. After his military service, Sheriff Briggs joined the San Andreas State Police where he reached the position of Captain of the State Bureau of Investigations.

On June 09, 2021, Sheriff Briggs was unanimously elected to be the 22nd Sheriff of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Office. During his tenure, Sheriff Briggs has implemented a multitude of programs and divisions to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Los Santos County remained the top priority of the Sheriff's Office. Setting aside the toxic political aspect of the position, Sheriff Briggs reorganized the entire Office to forge a diplomatic system within members of command and field staff.

As the Sheriff of Los Santos County, I have great expectations for the Los Santos Sheriff’s Office and its members. Their attention to duty and professionalism is the leading force behind gaining trust and cooperation from our citizens. In our effort to keep our crime low, the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Office has embraced a balanced approach to public safety. Constant training and preparations are key to having a secure plan for success when assisting our citizens and responding to calls of service. To fulfill that mission, the Office will strive to attain the highest degree of ethical behavior and professional conduct at all times.
